3D Digitization of Maori and Pacific Islands
Heritage Artefacts
The project commenced in 2006. It involves using
laser digitisation technologies to capture the full
three-dimensional geometry of Maori and Pacific Islands
heritage artefacts held at the Auckland War Memorial
Museum. The 2007 team has made exciting progress in
developing techniques and creating 3D digital models.
These models will be used by the museum for archival
documentation, historical conservation, on-line
exhibition and display, and replications.
